  1. Wash the lemons and rub the peel. Then cut in the middle, squeeze out and pour the juice into a jug. Depending on your taste, the pulp can be added to the lemon juice.
  2. Bring the water to the boil and then stir with the sugar. Now add the lemon peel and citric acid. Let everything cool down slowly.
  3. Pour the lemon juice into the water-sugar mixture while stirring. Pour into a clean bottle with a cap and let the syrup steep in the refrigerator for a day.
  4. Serving: Pour a dash of lemon syrup into a glass, fill up with mineral or still water, add ice cubes if necessary and enjoy.

Tips on the recipe

Garnish with a thin lemon wedge or fresh lemon balm and colorful drinking straws.

The syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for about 2 months.
