How can I crack an entrance exam

A thieving entrance exam

Runkel Börsenhauer asks the heroes in Avestreu to help him, since he A thieving entrance exam has to exist in order to be accepted into the Ferdoker Thieves Guild.

The first task [edit | Edit source]

The first task is to find and open a chest at the Aves Shrine in Avestreu. If you walk up the path to the shrine, you will find the chest to the right of the building. To open the chest you need the talent picking locks. There is an encrypted message in the chest that Runkel can decipher.

The second task [edit | Edit source]

The second task is to find the thieves 'guild key in the Ackerboldts' hen house. The chicken coop is located in the back yard of the Ackerboldts' farm, across from the tavern. The backyard is, however, protected by the watchdog Wolfi, who first wants to be appeased. Binga Ackerboldt has the dog bone necessary for this. It can be stolen from her by pickpocketing or obtained by talking to her. Now that you have given Wolfi the bone, you can enter the back yard and search the chicken coop. This contains the key you are looking for and another encrypted message. The message can in turn be deciphered by Runkel.

The third task [edit | Edit source]

The third task leads the heroes into the vault of the old mill. After fighting a few rats, you end up in front of a locked chest that is secured by a trap. If the trap is not defused, the unfortunate hero suffers fire moss poisoning. The thieves' guild key obtained in the second task opens the chest containing another message, this time unencrypted. It is written from right to left and reads: Cuano Fuhrmannsheim

Ferdok [edit | Edit source]

In Fuhrmannsheim, opposite the gentle sow and next to the stall of the shopkeeper Holdoch, there is a small wooden crate. Through this the heroes reach a cellar vault, where they find the thief Debero. After the answer has been given, the heroes are allowed to enter the thieves' guild.
