What is CA glue

Cyanoacrylate glue has become one of the most popular adhesives in model making, do-it-yourself and household applications in recent years. With different viscosities and compositions, the right adhesive is available for every area of ‚Äč‚Äčapplication. The epoxy resin is available for all other tasks.

Worth knowing about CA glue:

Heat and moisture reduce the lifespan of cyanoacrylate adhesives. Unopened bottles can be stored in the freezer or refrigerator, but the container must be brought to room temperature before use. Store the containers in a cool place and do not expose them to direct sunlight, and also do not store them together with the Accelerator. If stored correctly, the containers can be stored for approx. 24 months. Unscrew the tip before using it for the first time in order to release any pressure in the bottle. Then screw it back on, hold the tip on a surface (container in an almost horizontal position) and cut off as desired with a sharp knife. Do not squeeze the container together. Before you close the container after the work is done, tap the bottle a few times on a firm surface so that the adhesive runs back, then press the container with the tip pointing upwards so that the air pressure removes the remaining adhesive, then clean the tip with a cloth and seal it if necessary .

When using CA adhesives, it should be noted that the highest strength is achieved when the parts fit together almost seamlessly. Press the parts to be glued together as tightly as possible. Rough surfaces should be sanded flat, particles and dirt particles must be removed before gluing. Please also note that CA adhesives develop strength very quickly, but hardening can take a few hours. If in doubt, it is best to leave it to dry overnight. The use of Accelerator accelerates the hardening of the adhesive, but you increase the strength if you let the adhesive dry out on its own.
