How many members does Equinox have

New York City Equinox gyms are beautiful, well-maintained, and conveniently located. You have got the latest equipment and lots of great classes so you will have plenty to keep you busy-and fit. Of course, you will be paying higher monthly membership fees for these privileges and, as in any gym, the crowds will have to contend with the workout peak during peak hours.

Many feel that the benefits are worth the higher fees. At Equinox, all equipment is shiny and new and the locker rooms are always clean and well stocked with towels and free hair and body products. Going to the gym is always a positive experience.

If you train evenings during the week and mornings on weekends, you are likely to encounter some crowds (especially in January and April to May when all gyms tend to get a lot of new and newly signed up members). Most don't have to wait for a cardio machine to get on, although popular group fitness classes sometimes fill up and the lines for the showers can get long.

New York City is home to the flagship location fitness chain along with 30 outposts in Manhattan. There are ten locations in Uptown, nine in Midtown and 11 in Downtown. There are also three in Brooklyn, three in Westchester, and three on Long Island.

Keep an eye out for state-of-the-art cardiovascular and weight machines and group relaxation exercises (including spinning, active regeneration, sculpt, kickboxing, dancing, and more) at all locations. There are also parallel bars, yoga and pilates, boxing and martial arts. Swimming pools, saunas, steam baths, whirlpools, juice bars and daycare centers are also available at selected locations. More than a gym, Equinox promotes that it be an association with a full range of member benefits.

Equinox membership costs

Like most New York City gyms, Equinox has no standard initiation and monthly membership advertise. As a rule, they will only provide information about current prices if you make a personal appointment with a membership employee. That's partly because it gets you to the gym to make it easier to close the deal and partly because Equinox often offer specials and offers so prices can vary significantly. Based on information from current and recent Equinox members, monthly fees range up to $ 300 per month, plus membership fees.

Business Insider reported in 2016 that "Members pay $ 200 to $ 300 membership fees and $ 160 to $ 250 monthly payments."

As a member you will be getting unlimited classes, a personal trainer evaluation and can download the Equinox app to track your progress and get club information.

When you join you will receive:

  • Fitness assessment
  • Personal training
  • One on a Pilates session
  • 25 percent discount on your first spa treatment
  • 20 percent discount on your first purchase in the club shop
