7th Japanese Film Week Düsseldorf 2013

From Friday January 18, 2013 to Sunday January 27, 2013, we welcome you to our little one in Düsseldorf for the seventh time Japanese Film Week welcome, where you can spend eight days in 23 performances (plus special performances for schools) eleven Japanese films from different genres in Japanese original version with German or English subtitles can experience.

The entry to all performances free! Tickets for the respective film will be only 30 minutes before the start of the performance at the box office of the film museum issued. (Unfortunately is no ticket reservations possible.)

Since the Block box a small cinema with only 134 seats we recommend especially on weekends early arrival!

Friends of Japanese popular culture and Families with children we offer three films by MIYAZAKI Hayao: "Ponyo - The great adventure by the sea" (2008), "Howl's Moving Castle" (2004) and the amusing early work "The Castle of Cagliostro" (1979). Who is for technically groundbreaking cartoons interested in "Appleseed" (2004) get their money's worth. Literature lovers should "Villon's wife" (2009), the film adaptation of the novel of the same name by DAZAI Osamu (1909-1948), don't miss it. The 50th birthday by the famous Japanese director IWAI Shunji (* 1963) we would like to see his award-winning work "Yentown"(1996). The genre of the History or samurai films (jidaigeki) is through this time "Dora-Heita"(2000), an old work by the director ICHIKAWA Kon. The comparison with "Aragami" (2002), one modern version of the samurai film, in which the focus is also not on the sword fight itself, but on the psychological test of strength of the opponents.

humor comes in the 7th Japanese Film Week not too short either. Put yourself in the nostalgic, warm-hearted comedy "Always - Sunset on Third Street" (2005) in the post-war Tôkyô of 1958. Learn in "Osaka Hamlet" (2008) know the somewhat atypical Kubo family, who have to struggle with all sorts of adversities in life after the unexpected death of the head of the family. Join Komaki and her little daughter Non-chan in "Norikos Noriben" (2009) at your new family start and treat yourself to a charming insight into Japanese food culture.

All films are in color and will without advertisement shown; There is a brief greeting and introduction to each film. The entry to all events is free - We look forward to you!
