As a Gratitude journal can help to achieve more balance
Even bad days are often better than they appear at first glance. A gratitude journal offers its users the opportunity to focus specifically on the positive things, even where they are otherwise easily overlooked. The goal: more self-esteem - and thus more satisfaction.
Even on supposedly bad days there are positive things - you just have to recognize it"Was that another bad day" - this sentence is said and heard a lot, and of course there are good reasons for it in many cases: Private problems are not infrequently associated with professional stress, and we all get caught up in the ongoing pandemic everyday life when to our limit. It is all the more important to work actively to shift the focus. Like so many trends, so-called journaling originated in the USA and spilled over to us from there. The term is derived from the French "le journal" and the English "journal", which basically means nothing more than "diary". But while keeping a diary is your own responsibility for what focus you set, one helps Gratitude journal targeted to reflect on the positive aspects - which one so often overlooks in the midst of arduous everyday life.
There are various journaling techniques that always focus on mindfulness and self-care. Answering certain questions is popular, for example, which encourage the writer to reflect on the good, beautiful moments even on days that seem bad at first glance - no matter how small they are. Those who consciously focus their perspective on these moments often notice effects on their well-being after a short time: Grateful people are usually happier, healthier and can deal better with stress, and the risk of depression, sleep disorders or heart disease also decreases.
A gratitude journal can lead to more balance and self-esteemBecause it is not that easy to create a suitable structure for yourself, there are books that already offer a ready-made journaling template. At the Gratitude journal "A good day", for example, is the title of the program: The underlying thesis is that most days are better than you initially think - with the right questions, the book gives buyers the chance to determine the truth of this statement based on their own experiences to check.
Each page represents a day of the week, whereby the days are not pre-dated so that users can start filling out the book at a flexible, self-selected time - the respective date can be entered manually in a field provided for this purpose.
On half a page, the diary authors can record the experiences of a day, what they valued and what they did particularly well. There are no formal limits: Whether you want to write whole sentences, work with key words or rather create a list, the authors can decide completely freely depending on the form of the day. In addition to the pure diary function, each page contains a quote that may contain one or the other food for thought, a mindfulness traffic light, a habit tracker and the possibility of documenting sleep times or other values, for example, help with self-observation. Finally, there is a mindfulness tip on the left that gives readers small suggestions for everyday life on the way. If there is not enough space to write, that's no problem either: At the end of the book, there are plenty of free pages waiting to be filled with thoughts, feelings, anecdotes and everyday things.
When a month ends, the monthly reflections offer the opportunity to review the past 28 to 31 days and take a look at the big picture: What was particularly good, what was particularly difficult? What has changed or improved compared to the previous months? What did I do particularly well - and what do I still have to work on? Which experiences were particularly instructive? On the subject
Mindfulness is very important - also in productionAnd that's not all: At the beginning of the book you can take a detailed inventory of your life so far and define exactly what is good in your own life, what values you use to define yourself and what actually makes a good day. The fill-in can sometimes be confronted with unpleasant truths - but despite all the optimism, "A good day" does not want to be a shallow feel-good book. Instead of propagating compulsive and therefore often toxic positivity, the book is about real insights that make sustainable change processes and positive change possible in the first place.
Mindfulness is not only a top priority in "A Good Year" in terms of content, production is also under the sign of the health of people and the environment. The book is bound locally by hand in one of the oldest printing works in the world - it was founded in 1593. Both the production and the transport routes are climate-neutral - for this, the CO2 consumption was calculated in a costly manner and offset by afforestation in Nicaragua. It is printed on 100 percent ecological waste paper, and neither chemical brighteners nor animal ingredients are used. The publisher also dispenses with shrink-wrapping and has already saved over 250,000 foils. In this way, "A good year" not only gives you new perspectives, but also gives you a completely clear conscience.
